Using the Avast Setup wizard is the regular uninstallation method to remove Avast Antivirus from your PC. Alternatively, if you prefer to remove all Avast Antivirus files using the Avast Uninstall Utility, refer to the following article:

IMPORTANT: Before you uninstall Avast, note that your PC will no longer be protected by against malware and other threats.


Windows 10

                

                    
  1. Log into Windows as a user with administrator permissions and ensure no other application or antivirus software is running on your PC.
  2. Right-click the Windows  Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Ensure that Apps & Features is selected in the left panel, then click your version of Avast Antivirus, and select Uninstall.
  4. If prompted by the User Account Control dialog for permissions, click Yes.
  5. When the Avast Setup wizard appears, click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation of Avast Antivirus.
  7. Wait while setup removes Avast Antivirus from your PC.
  8. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Restart computer to complete the uninstallation.

After your PC restarts, Avast Antivirus is uninstalled from your system. Your PC is no longer protected by Avast against malware and other threats.

                

            

Windows 8

                

                    
  1. Log into Windows as a user with administrator permissions and ensure no other application or antivirus software is running on your PC.
  2. Press the  Win key and X key simultaneously, then select Programs and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Right-click your version of Avast Antivirus, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  4. If prompted by the User Account Control dialog for permissions, click Yes.
  5. When the Avast Setup wizard appears, click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation of Avast Antivirus.
  7. Wait while setup removes Avast Antivirus from your PC.
  8. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Restart computer to complete the uninstallation.

After your PC restarts, Avast Antivirus is uninstalled from your system. Your PC is no longer protected by Avast against malware and other threats.

                

            


Windows Vista

                

                    
  1. Log into Windows as a user with administrator permissions and ensure no other application or antivirus software is running on your PC.
  2. Click the Windows  Start button and select Control Panel,...or select SettingsControl Panel if you are using the classic Start menu.
  3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program if you are using the default category view,
    ...or double-click Programs and Features if you are using the classic view.
  4. Right-click your version of Avast Antivirus, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  5. If prompted by the User Account Control dialog for permissions, click Continue.
  6. When the Avast Setup wizard appears, click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation of Avast Antivirus.
  8. Wait while setup removes Avast Antivirus from your PC.
  9. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Restart computer to complete the uninstallation.

After your PC restarts, Avast Antivirus is uninstalled from your system. Your PC is no longer protected by Avast against malware and other threats.

                

            

Windows 7

                

                    
  1. Log into Windows as a user with administrator permissions and ensure no other application or antivirus software is running on your PC.
  2. Click the Windows  Start button and select Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program if you are using the default category view,
    ...or click Programs and Features if you are using the large/small icons view.
  4. Right-click your version of Avast Antivirus, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  5. If prompted by the User Account Control dialog for permissions, click Yes.
  6. When the Avast Setup wizard appears, click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation of Avast Antivirus.
  8. Wait while setup removes Avast Antivirus from your PC.
  9. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Restart computer to complete the uninstallation.

  1. Log into Windows as a user with administrator permissions and ensure no other application or antivirus software is running on your PC.
  2. Click the Windows  Start button and select Control Panel,...or select SettingsControl Panel if you are using the classic Start menu.
  3. Click Add or Remove Programs if you are using the category view,
    ...or double-click Add or Remove Programs if you are using the classic view.
  4. Select your version of Avast Antivirus by clicking it once, then click Remove in the bottom-right corner of the highlighted selection.
  5. When the Avast Setup wizard appears, click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation of Avast Antivirus.
  7. Wait while setup removes Avast Antivirus from your PC.
  8. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Restart computer to complete the uninstallation.
